Fly Fishing Fenzy 07

2007 Idaho-Montana Frenzy
This was the 5th year of the Frenzy, but my frist year being invited. With the motto: "Are You Ready To F" You could tell this was going to be a crazy group of guys. The trip started with a welcome dinner at the Hard Helmet in Rexburg. We meet up with ten fishing buddies and started our 5 day fly fishing trip in the Island Park area. The trip encluded fishing the Henry's Fork, Madison, and a private stillwater. The Henry's Fork lived up to its legendary status as we caught its large bows and browns in the Box Canyon and lower sections. The biggest fish out of the Henry's was a 24" bow caught by Gene. The Madison also yeilded some nice healthy bows below Hebgen Lake. The key was to find the best holding water and fish it until your shoulders were to tired to reel any more. (Those bows sure fight hard) The stillwater fishing was the iceing on the cake. These fish haven't scene hardly any fishing pressure so they were willing to come up for my mouse fly and small buggers. Everyone caught nice bass and bows out of this lake. In all this was a trip of a life-time and a great way to start off the summer fishing season. Great fishing in one of the countries most beautiful settings.
